We came from everywhere – Fortune 100’s, universities, public service, hospitals, non-profits, and classrooms across the country. We gathered under one simple cause, to help organizations improve outcomes for the people they serve.
Our passion for finding facts and using them to create the way forward unites us. And so, in 2014 we formed Crane R&D as a next generation consulting practice. We are focused on understanding the objectives of our clients and helping them achieve their goals faster and with less cost. Methodology is our business. We apply and develop innovative techniques to Transform Data into Direction™.
Crane R&D is an Ohio-certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Encouraging Diversity Growth and Equity (EDGE) supplier. We are a Commission on Minority Health – REEP Approved Evaluator, a member of the Data Science Association, and a National Institutes of Health – Network of Minority Research Investigators agency. We are on a State Term Schedule (STS) and offer our management services to the public sector, private sector, and nonprofit organizations.

Dr. Jordan Argus, Ph.D.
Chief Research Officer
Dr. Argus is a translational researcher and predictive modeler. That’s statistics talk for his passion to get ahead of risk in the business environment. He’s currently serving as the Managing Partner for The Sankofa Company as they merge with us at Crane R&D, while still tending his duties as the Chief Research Officer. Most of the time you will receive an email from Dr. A or his octo-armed assistant.
Dr. Kamaria A. Tyehimba, PhD., LISW-S, LICDC-CS
Senior Consultant
Dr. Tyehimba has led NGOs and studied the culture of families, minorities, addiction, abuse, mental health, criminal justice and poverty. In addition to her doctorate in Social Psychology, she holds a Master’s Degree in Social work. She has a LISW-S and LICDC-CS. Oh, by the way, she received the Life Time Achievement Award under the Obama administration.
Dr. Terry Long, DBA
Director of Corporate Services
Dr. Long has served in high-task fiscal roles (while teaching coursework in business development, the art of projection, and forensic accounting. His special skill is developing financial branches so that when we ask our clients to go out on a limb, it remains strong and doesn’t crack underneath them. He loves to find money, and generate it with nominal investment.
Dr. Tanisha Jackson, Ph.D.
Director of Education Services
Dr. Jackson is the consummate professor – she designs curriculum, coaches lecturers, and ensures that her students value both question and convention. She specializes in STEAM work – integrating the arts into academic programs from K-16.

Dr. Linda James Myers is a clinical psychologist, an internationally recognized scholar and cultural critic whose research and production of culturally syntonic psychological knowledge places Africana Studies and Psychology at the forefront of the paradigm shift supported by contemporary science and converging with Eastern Philosophies. As a scholar/practitioner, author, and medicine woman, her work includes the development of a theory of Optimal Psychology grounded in the wisdom tradition of African deep thought and manifest in non-immigrant African (Indigenous) American culture. Her psychotherapeutic/psycho-educational approach, Belief Systems Analysis, has been widely adopted and used in substance abuse treatment and other behavioral health programs throughout the US and internationally. She joins our team as an authority on cultural-resonance, and trauma-responsivity.
Ms. Barbara Pender, CSSGB, Certified Social Media Strategist

Barbara’s six sigma certification and geeky IT tech girl approach offers a double-edged sword in the space of Project and Program management. She’s our implementation guru, with extensive experience in culture change and roll-outs. She
is also a Master Trainer to our corporate partners seeking big moves and big dollars in the marketplace. Known for keeping her finger on the cusp of technology trends, she
has lent her expertise to emerging and established businesses for the past 25 years. Today, she is on a mission to help our partners skyrocket to success with innovative strategies that drive and develop deep relationships that lead to profits. Dr. Maria Houston, Psy.D.
Subject Matter Expert
Dr. Houston has extensive experience with both mental health and the criminal justice system. She teaches coursework related to child development, multicultural needs, and other aspects of developmental psychology. She is particularly well-attuned to conflict mediation, risk mitigation, and helping people and agencies find their best place. Did we mention that she’s a board-certified psychologist?
Dr. Bill Brehm, Ph.D.
Senior Consultant
Dr. Brehm is a change management and HR systems guru! He’s served as a Department Commissioner, Ombudsman Director, and overseen the ADR process. He’s masterful with getting to the root of business and personel problems. Born and educated in New York. Majored in Cultural Anthropology as an undergraduate; joined the United States Peace Corps and resided in Korea for 7 years, teaching English and studying TaeKwonDo and Zen Buddhism. Employed by State of New Hampshire shortly after returning to the US. MS Human Services Springfield College. Ph.D. Education Walden University 2000. We might have forgotten to mention that he is a Human Services Board Certified Professional.
Dr. James Williams, Ph.D., DM, CHE, CC

Dr. Williams has published research on emotional intelligence, soft skills, sports, leadership, employee training, mentorship, hospitality pedagogy, human resource management, and personal and professional development. Did we mention that he holds six degrees – including two doctorates – has spoke to over 100 unique audiences, and won numerous speech competitions for Toastmaster’s International; served as a keynote speaker for Coffeewood Correctional Institution, public schools, colleges, Fortune 500 companies, professional organizations?
Dr. Kelli Seaton, Ph.D.

Dr. Kelli Seaton is a K-12 force, focused on disrupting the school to prison pipeline. She is an experienced K-12 leader with years of experience in high administrative roles, from turnaround Principal to a VP of Teacher Leadership Development for Teach For America. Dr. Seaton is an alum of Howard University once, and Purdue University twice. We are excited to have Dr. Seaton as a member of the Crane R&D team. In addition to PRN consulting, she also serves as a our lead on ANDY and the STORY Project.
Dr. Melissa Crum, Ph.D.

Dr. Melissa Crum is an artist, author, researcher, and founder of Mosaic Education Network, LLC. She leads a consulting company that infuses the arts, research, storytelling and critical thinking into professional development, community building and curriculum development. Dr. Crum works with her team of experts to act as engaging and collaborative resources for schools, nonprofits, and companies. With her team, she facilitates and encourages thought-provoking conversations addressing difficult topics on supporting, interacting, and partnering with diverse communities. She works hard to help you become informed of and feel secure about using everyday practical applications of diversity and inclusion strategies to positively impact your environment. To make this happen she creates a “brave space” where you can ask the tough questions, admit faults and celebrate successes. Her national and international experiences working with educators, museums, and businesses has allowed her to help you make social change from your desk, to your living room and beyond.
Dr. Nicolya Williams, Ed.D.

With her years of clinical experience in the field, the Crane team is thrilled to capitalize on Dr. Nic’s subject matter expertise on the needs of women of all ages. In particular, she will be working with our development group to design a microenterprise model to help female-headed families reclaim their time, sanity, and financial freedom. Throughout his consulting career, Corey has consistently bridged the gap between technology and business. He’s recognized for developing go-to-market and business development strategies that have led to the acquisition of significant contracts across various sectors. His adeptness at understanding client needs and driving consensus with key stakeholders has resulted in numerous successful projects and initiatives.
One of Corey’s standout achievements includes facilitating a prominent organization’s entry into the federal government contracting sector. This endeavor led to the acquisition of multiple contract vehicles and a robust business portfolio in a remarkably short span. Additionally, Corey played a pivotal role in establishing a strong presence in the Midwest territory for a leading IT consulting firm, resulting in the capture of multi-year, multimillion-dollar contracts.

Mr. Corey Posey, BSW, BA, MA, ABD

Mr. Corey L. Posey is a seasoned Higher Education professional with 18 years of professional experience in Student Affairs, Educational Policy and College Admissions. Mr. Posey’s expertise is in the areas of College Readiness, Student Leadership, and Multicultural Student Retention. His philosophy statement on Higher Education is “If You Can Learn, You Can Grow”.
Mr. Posey has earned a Master of Arts in Higher Education & Student Affairs from The Ohio State University, Bachelor of Science in Sociology from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, and a Bachelor of Social Work from Salisbury University.
Mr. Johnny Turner, BS, PMP
Project Manager
For more than a decade, Johnny Turner has worked in the areas of Workforce Development, Youth and Adult Mentoring, Comprehensive Case Management, and Program/Project Development. Johnny has written or coauthored nearly $2.0 million in grant funding awarded by the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture, Franklin County Jobs and Family Services, Ohio Department of Education, and Ohio Commission on Minority Health on behalf of youth & young adult summer employment programs, health & wellness initiatives, and Charter School programming.
Mrs. Sola Zaccheus, Ed.S.
Senior Education Consultant
A native of New Jersey with over 9 years of experience in education, Sola Zaccheus has made great efforts to support the development of young children in fun and developmentally appropriate ways. After graduating from Howard University, she received her Masters of Teaching degree in Early Childhood Education from American University. Mrs. Zaccheus completed her Ed. S, from George Washington University, in which her research focused on fine motor development, nature-based play, arts education and autism interventions. In efforts to support families on a more intimate basis, Mrs. Zaccheus works as an developmental therapist providing play based interventions. Additionally, Mrs. Zaccheus serves as an adjunct professor at the University of The District of Columbia, where she teaches Principles of Child Development, History and Philosophy of Early Childhood, & Guidance in Teaching.
Ms. Candelaria Mota, MS
Senior Consultant
Ms. Mota prefers to be called Candy. She’s an amazing Subject Matter Expert in the area of healthy family interactions and the Psychosocial Determinants of Health. Candy earned her Associates Degree in Human Services from Bronx Community College and her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Hunter College. Shortly after completing her undergraduate degree, she moved to South Florida where she completed her Master’s Degree in Mental Health at Nova Southeastern University. She currently serves on the Board for Family Pride Network (FPN) and works tirelessly to empower youth and families in Columbus, Ohio providing them with the support, skill set and healing we all deserve.
Mr. Michael Artis, BS

Michael is a native of Columbus, Ohio and has a BS in Agribusiness and Economics from the Ohio State University. With more than a decade of client service and consultation experience, Mr. Artis has proven himself to be an effective leader for creating, training, and implementing treasury solutions. Mike has worked for several of the nation’s largest financial institutions and is also an alumnus of a Big Four consulting firm.
Ms. Lorraine Sheppard, MA

Ms. Sheppard has joined the team as an Associate Researcher to help us deepen both our understanding of, and publication of, research on the Psychosocial Determinants of Health. Her practical experience has been focused on providing direct service as a Behavioral Therapist. We are happy to have Ms. Sheppard bring an open mind and research chops to Crane R&D.
Mr. Nick Buckingham
Junior Analyst
Mr. Buckingham is the Coding Kid. He is proficient on multiple platforms with several languages. As a Junior Analyst he is applying his programming acumen to business and social concerns to add value to our Crane R&D methodologies. Keep an eye out for the Coding Kid!
